PURPOSE:
Improve the ability of the nurses to recognize impaired nurses and review the referral, treatment and State Board of Nursing process.
OBJECTIVES:
• Discuss the prevalence of nurses referred for substance abuse in the State of Nebraska.
• Identify key behaviors that might indicate substance abuse
• State the process for nurses wishing to take part in the nurse substance abuse program
• Identify the role of the State Board of Nursing related to licensure and reinstatement of nurses with substance abuse problems
